With this e-service, companies that do not have a Swedish registration number can apply for permission to transport waste in Sweden.

Applications for transport of hazardous and/or non-hazardous waste must be sent to the County Administration Board (“länsstyrelsen”) where the waste is collected or delivered. If you intend to collect or deliver waste in an area covering more than one county (“län”), send your application to the County Administration Board in the county where you plan to transport the most waste.

For transit transport no permit is needed.

The application fee must be paid before we can start to handle your application. Information about how to pay the fee is included in this e-service. You will need both IBAN and Swift numbers

• Transportation permit for hazardous waste with/without other types of waste: 2 900 SEK


• Transportation permit for other types of waste only: 1 660 SEK

You can enclose supporting documents as PDF, TIF, or JPG files. Note that a session of the e-service will close after 3 hours of inactivity.

Before you apply, be prepared to give the following information:

• A financial report for your company in Swedish or in English. If you attach a financial report in another language, we will need explanation and clarification in Swedish or English.


• Which County Administration Board should receive your application form


• Your corporate identification number (VAT)


• Which places and companies you will collect waste from, and where you will deliver waste


• What type of waste (hazardous or non-hazardous) you will be handling


• The knowledge and experience you and your company’s staff have with waste transport


• Your European permit for conveyance of goods

The permission will be published at the web check “Kontrollera avfallstransportörer”. Here the police, other authorities and the public are able to check which companies have valid permissions to transport waste in Sweden.
